ENT (ear, nose and throat)

Alongside eye care, Estudios Oftalmológicos runs an ENT service, with specialist consultation and surgical procedures performed in our own operating rooms.

Specialist consultation

Assessment of the ear, nose, sinuses, throat and upper airway. Common reasons for consulting are persistent nasal obstruction, rhinitis that will not settle, snoring, repeated tonsillitis, recurrent ear infections, hearing loss and prolonged hoarseness.

Procedures we perform

  • Septoplasty. Corrects a deviated nasal septum that obstructs breathing.
  • Septorhinoplasty. Combines functional correction of the septum with correction of the external nose.
  • Transnasal and endoscopic turbinate reduction. Reduces enlarged turbinates that block airflow.
  • Endoscopic transnasal sinus surgery.
  • Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy and adenotonsillectomy.
  • Direct microlaryngoscopy to assess and treat vocal cord lesions.
  • Myringotomy with ventilation tube placement in otitis media with effusion.

Our operating rooms

We have six specialized operating rooms with up-to-date technology, suitable for low and intermediate complexity procedures under local or general anesthesia. Each has medical and nursing staff dedicated to the patient safety program.

Your questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Is septoplasty cosmetic surgery?

No. Septoplasty corrects the internal septum to improve breathing. When the external shape of the nose is also changed, that is septorhinoplasty, which combines the functional and the cosmetic.

At what age are tonsils or adenoids removed?

It depends on the indication, not the age. The most common reasons are repeated infections and airway obstruction during sleep. The specialist assesses each case.

Do ventilation tubes fall out on their own?

Standard tubes are extruded on their own over time as the eardrum regenerates. The specialist checks periodically to confirm.

Is ENT available at all three locations?

Please confirm scheduling availability by location when you book, as this specialty's schedule varies.
